DAY 43: THU 4 OCT - AMSTERDAM

Rain, (still!!!) very dull and grey sky 9-12deg

Breakfast at Henk's next door, the others joined me this time.

Due to the poor weather we decided to do the Resistance Museum, just around the corner. That concentrated on the Jews in the main, not that much on the actual resistance. Then had a nice burger in the museum café for lunch.  The others went off to the Conference Opening Ceremony, while I ended up at Robert Cujp Markets.  They were good with plenty of nice food, not that I needed any.

Walked back to the motel, about 45 minutes, showered then caught the tram to meet Wendy at the conference centre, RAI.  A bus then took us to the Offices Mess at the Dutch Naval Base near Central Station.  The Surgeon General welcomed us and we ate, drank (I had lovely French (Bordeaux) red wine) and chatted for about 3 hours.   It was just great to meet all the people Wendy had been friends with during all the pharmacy conferences over many years.  I chatted to a Dutch Army Pharmacist, Rebecca, for a while, it was her first conference.  The bus dropped us at Central Station and we caught the tram home.   A very enjoyable evening.
