DAY 41: TUE 2 OCT - AMSTERDAM

Cool and dull with some sunny patches, 9-14deg

Jane went off to meetings so Wendy, Sylvain and I did some free stuff.  Took in the view from top floor of the library, looked around the Old Quarter then caught a free ferry to the north shore and back.  Had KFC chicken and salad for lunch.

Wendy had had enough so she went back to motel.  I stayed with Sylvain and Sadi (young pharmacist from Canada who had arrived that morning) for some more wandering.

We all went back soon after and dressed for dinner.  Caught the tram to Regis' Motel for dinner.  Met up with Peter (Zimbabwe) Bill (Canberra) and Sherwin, (Canada).  We ended up at a steak house and I got the wrong steak (eye instead of sirloin) which turned out to be so nice.  We all enjoyed our meals; Wendy and I had a steak each, rice, salad plus a bottle of wine for 50euro, A$63.
