DAY 21: WED 12 SEP - GERMERSHEIM TO WORMS

Ride: 70km; total: 937km
Cool, max 16deg, grey skies but only a couple of spots of rain

After the best breakfast thus far we headed out at 7:00am into a cold, gloomy day.  By the time we got to Mannheim, where we were planning to walk around, it was freezing cold and threatening to rain, so we had a quick bite to eat and peddled on.  Arrived at the Motel Boos at 3:00pm.

The whole ride, which was an alternative route because of closures on the other side of the Rhine, was one word, shitty.  Industrial, next to busy roads or through very unattractive towns and villages.  That is one day I'm glad is over.

Had a wander around a lovely old town with a massive cathedral.  Managed to get inside just before closing.

Dinner was great, salmon and a cabbage mix at Nordsee, a seafood chain snack-bar and eatery.

It then got extremely cold quickly and threatened to rain, so we hurried back to the motel.
